Mellowing Yellows of Autumn Past

Sunday Stills challenge this week – Yellow Autumn or Leaves

As you know down here in Aotearoa/New Zealand it is Spring, for those involved with Sunday Stills it is all about Autumn with an emphasis on Yellow.

It just so happens that Autumn is one of my favourite seasons.

Looking out my window viewing the weather, it could be Autumn. As the rain soaks our balcony. Reminding me of not just rainy Autumnal days, but, beautiful sunny days road-tripping and stopping to catch our breath near vineyards in South West France during the years we enjoyed housesitting in Europe.

Let’s take me and you back to those glorious Autumn moments.

When the warmish days and cooler nights would accumulate in changeable weather, in turn, creating an environment bursting with an array of beautiful colours.

What is Sunday Stills all about?

In Terri’s words:

Sunday Stills is a photography challenge with a weekly theme (similar to the now-defunct WPC). Each Sunday I post the weekly theme with images of my own interpretation. Any blogger is welcome to participate and interpret the challenge with their photos, poems, stories, music, etc!

  1. I love the sky in that photo of the field and the shack. We went for a walk in the woods last Sunday but the leaves were still green or brown rather than yellow.
We have had lots of rain and no frosts yet so Autumn is a bit late here in England.

  2. Autumns my favourite time of the year too until spring, then it’s spring lol. I like the composition of your photographs Sue, especially the one with the sky (beautiful) and looking down the row with the town in the distance.

    1. Sorry Wendy for the late reply it looks like I missed a few comments. Laughed at the changing season comment. Spring is so unpredictable as far as weather goes and isn’t a favourite season for me. Though I love the blossoms and new life.

    1. Slippery leaves are the worst. A good reason to look down while walking. The pink are a paddock of flowers next door. I’ve been trying to remember the name of them. No, it’s not happening!

  3. These are gorgeous!! I love that pic with the White House and the purple-pink in the back. I miss leaf season. Where I live now has a stable climate. There’s no dramatic shifting to fall. Of course, the trade-off is worth it for my health. I can no longer tolerate heat very well, so the spring/fall year-round temps are a blessing.

    1. Thanks for commenting and yes I can imagine it would be better for your health having a stable climate. Though is there really any place in the world with stable climate?
