Joining in with Jude’s photography challenge via Life in Colour – March is all about green. Well, in this post, the colour green is minuscule and in the eye of the beholder.
Look into my eyes
What do you see?

A dangling mouse,
Hanging catnip,
Numerous balls of tangled wool,
Perhaps just one mangled bird.

Relaxed and unpredictable.
What will be my next conquest?.

But you have green grass.. here it’s the snow.. ;-).. still.. ๐

Gorgeous cat image! One of my cats would eat the mice he caught and regurgitate what I assumed to be bowels. Once I walked into the garage barefoot and stepped in the cold mouse guts. My husband was on the phone with a customer or vendor and had to hang up because his wife was screaming!๐ฑ

That made me smile, yes these things never quite happen at the most convenient of times.

Beautiful words and images. The cat’s stunning green eyes are brilliantly captured!

Thanks very much Donna, easy to capture when dinner is delayed for a few moments.

We do sometimes until we remember the not so cutesy times and visits to the expensive vet.

I was watching an episode of Midsomer Murders last night (you know about my obsession with that show, right?) and in this episode this guy who was teaching a selfish little upper class prig of a spoiled brat how to shoot (there’s a problem right there) said that foxes eyes glow bright green at night when most other animals (some cats do) don’t. I googled it.

It’s called emphasising a colour via photoshop, light etc comes into play. I took many photos of animals we have cared for over the years, more time was spent photographing them than we ever did on our own years ago. Never watched Midsomer Murders. How could we manage without googling ๐

Apparently foxes have a compound in their retina. The things you learn from Inspector Barnaby (if I was ever on Mastermind Midsomer Murders would be my special subject).

Lovely green eyes. I just wish the image hadn’t set off the tune of Green Eyes in my head.

Could be worse, though that song isn’t on my top 10. Hope it disappears soon.

Just love the catโs eyes! And no, I donโt think rabbits are beyond a cat. One of ours used to bring them in occasionally, along with assorted rodents, including rats, and once a squirrel. Some things about cat ownership I donโt miss!

Totally agree with your sentiments. As I don’t miss screaming in horror at the latest rat that was unceremoniously dumped in our kitchen at 1am with loud screeching just to make the moment more dramatic.

Opened the bedroom door to find cat and live rat both staring at me once. Shut it again quickly and let her do what she had to do!

Thanks Jude, I was trying to think outside the square regarding “green”.

You have me in fear and trembling! So glad I’m not a bird this morning ๐ ๐ The eyes are fabulous.

Even a well fed cat can’t help itself with a bit of hunting on the side. Luckily, most birds I think are just playing with those fat cats ๐

They are fascinating creatures and I love that they never put up with bad behaviour from us humans.
