Sing for me, Tui

The fluttering bird
With glimmering feathers
Swoops past me.
The sound of heavy wings
Announces the tui.

The black shadow
Moves so swiftly
Amongst bright green leaves
Sun catching colours
Through the gaps of the tree
Is a treat.

Songbird sing for me
In the kowhai tree
Time moves slow

When the wind blows
At your tuft.
