Joining in with Jude’s photography challenge on all things yellow.
Dandelions and sunflowers are from the same family. Similar to many families it’s members can be quite different in nature and statue. Here are two of my favourite flowers, both yellow and stunning in their own distinctive way.
I didn’t know dandelions and sunflowers were from the same family, but it makes sense when you look at them. I noticed a lot more sunflowers in gardens around here last year. I’m not sure if it was a particularly good year for them or if I was just noticing them more because we spent so much time locally. Beautiful yellows!

Whoops apologies, Sarah, for not replying sooner. Yellow is a cheerful colour.

Gorgeous. That’s a good start to what’s threatening to be another grey day.

Now that’s brought some colour into a dull day. Beautiful.

Mine too, luckily got a walk in with a friend before the sun came out with more humidity. Reminded me of Queensland 😉

aaah yes, Queensland in February. It’s humid as outside at the moment and thunder is rolling around.

I am wishing for rain as we haven’t had a great deal. A good excuse to stay home and catch up with inside things.

Both stunning yellows, but I’d rather have sunflowers in my garden than dandelions!

Unless, you enjoy dandelion tea. Yes, I must admit to preferring sunflowers they are a cheerful flower.

The flower is a favourite though is not. Actually not sure if I have a favourite, I do have a dislike to reds. Luckily in a garden they all blend in rather nicely.
