Inspiring Ingenuity – #99wordstories

Mr Bellbottom’s milk money from his letterbox kept disappearing like his patience. Time well spent in his shed concluded with, “I’ll fix the little blighter”.

He ingeniously set up an alarm system alongside the milk bottle and patiently awaited Lightfinger’s return. He waited until the next day. 7 pm before the milkman arrived, Lightfinger reappeared on his cycle, uplifting the bottle; in unison, the alarm screeched.

Milk money and cycle lay on the ground, Lightfinger scarpers, and the milk delivery returned without issue. Two weeks passed, then a knock on Mr Bellbottom’s door: “Give me my cycle back, please?”
