As we rested our weary bodies, no leaf stirred in the absence of wind.
The sun, a relentless force, pours its warmth from a cloudless sky, gently kissing our faces with its arid, affectionate touch. The only audible presence is the persistent, rhythmic hum of bees. Engrossed in their vital task, flying from one blossom to another, paying no heed to intruders like us. The air is saturated with the rich, potent scent, intensified by the unyielding sun.
It’s a heady, intoxicating fragrance that briefly wraps us in a tranquil cocoon. No rush to extract ourselves from it’s embrace.
I enjoy the scent of thyme. I like how you’ve framed it.

Thanks, Ally. I’m pleased you enjoyed it. Herbs are easily grown and a pleasure to have in a garden or finding while out walking.

The humans in this story are weary, and the bees are hard at work. I like that contrast.

Wonderful. I’ll join you and Jo on the grass, though I might need a hand up!
I had to buy new thyme plants this year as all my old ones have died. I love the smell.

Takes me back, ooh, as far as last week when we could enjoy such summery scenarios. Now normal service has been resumed.

We’re having highs and lows with our temperatures too. Though NIWA is now predicting a warmer than normal winter. We shall see.

The scent of thyme is gorgeous, I would even go as far as say that it’s even better on a roast chicken.
