A Summer Bird Show #99wordstory

Dawn’s chorus awakened her to the best summer event. Her pocket money was stockpiled, and the question of which bird she would purchase was a delightful mystery. On arrival, she sidestepped flamboyant women judges, their actions seemingly mimicking their fluffed parakeets.

She glanced all around; her eye caught sight of what could be hers.

Cycling home enthusiastically, only to learn by sundown that no bird would reside in a small cage in this household, ceasing any debating. By month’s end, anticipation was palatable as her sizeable outdoor aviary was constructed in the family backyard to house her flighty dreams.

    1. Hahaha, yep, that would’ve cured me too dating someone with lovebirds. Apart from her tastes in pets (at least they weren’t rodents), she grew up having broader and refined interests, thankfully.
