It's the small things, sometimes even the minuscule, and definitely not so much the enormous gestures, that matter as life moves on.

Storms, like our own inner reckonings, arrive not always in anger, though in a sort of relief. A mercy.

Last week, I managed to go for a reasonable cycle ride, which included meandering around Papahenga - the Matua Saltmarsh.

Standing by the lake, we felt insignificant as we gazed up at the peaks towering around us;
