Isn’t silence a state most of us crave at some stage of our day?
Early morning walks are my sanctuary for appreciating those relatively silent moments and a still mind. Capturing that moment with a bird for company is an added bonus. Here’s a spoonbill that inspired a few words from me.
A silent low tide.
A bird walks into the water,
Splash! Silence again.

I crave silence or subtle natural sounds most of the time. I find the everyday noises of modern life quite jarring. Your bird encounter and poem are just the antidote!

Yes, you are right, Eilene, regarding our every day noises of modern life are jarring. I have to walk via noisy traffic so the quieter parts are so enjoyable. Though leaving at sunrise during the weekend is blissfully quieter.
