An Engaging Tui

Singing to me sweetly
a tui.
Standing up straight
I stay very still.
So please,
don't flutter your wings
and leave me standing.
I'll have no choice
but to put
one foot after another
to rebegin my walk.
Keep singing a melody
and I will stay very still.

Nature and birds remind us of people who are no longer here with us. Though never far, they fly around and stay a while to make us smile.

      1. Thanks Suzanne. It is hard to believe we won’t see him again, although he was ill, it’s still such a shock. Fortunately my son and his family are over here from Australia so a welcome distraction, though not quite the holiday they were looking forward to.

    1. Thanks very much, Eilene, pleased you enjoyed it. I googled Scrub Jays, aren’t they gorgeous birds, the blue is beautiful. I suppose everyone has a favourite hence some remind me of people. The Tui has such a distinctive tune that if I get the chance to capture it, I do stop and enjoy it.
