In my hands #99wordstory

The shot was good—a swish. I didn’t even brag afterwards; I shook it off like a professional—like it happened every time. The first few points were easy. I dribbled it up, a lazy cross. The opposition couldn’t stop me.
I feigned some slick stuff from the keyhole, hitting the rim hard, and the ball disappeared. Soaring through the air and shot straight into the hands of the opposition. Running and scoring after the retrieve with a shit-eating grin, her smile surviving every huff and puff. My chance. It was trash, barely striking the backboard. Hero to zero within minutes.

    1. Haha, I love the name Silver Strikers. We’re called SWISH – senior women into shooting hoops. Many have played since they were teenagers, and the team leader coached a few when they were that young.
