Life at No.22, Snapshots of Tauranga

Snapshots of Tauranga #46

There are so many objects, situations, and even aspects of nature that could be classed as having similar qualities if you looked hard enough, yet be very different.

That’s where I am heading, though, today it’s cooler and sunnier.

Here is one example I found while walking along the boardwalk, having nearly completed that section of the estuary walk.

I realised the other day that I am constantly looking at my surroundings and noticing the oddities that arise from my observations. You could say a quiet enjoyment between me and myself until now.

Hidden in plain sight

See if you can visualise the similarities between these two images. One is built by a homeless man, and the other is a bird, both with creative freedom to choose how their home will be.

At the time of posting, my Walk for Waipuna, a fundraiser for our local hospice, begins. So, better get myself organised and out the door. Have a lovely evening/day.

A still cloudy morning. This boat is so photogenic to me and has been moored in the same spot for years. I wonder, like the previous images, what its story is?

    1. Thanks Jude, we are enjoying some spectacular sunrises and sunsets of late. Yes, some of the homeless creative homes do look permanent. Never ceases to amaze me how easy they shift them to another location. Collecting bits and pieces to make up like a bird building a nest.

    1. Hi Jo, people have signed up to walk 100kms or more for the month of April. Not just one walk like a marathon etc. Another way of fundraising and getting the community out there exercising 🙂 xx

    1. My quirkiness connected the two within seconds. I honestly don’t know if it’s been used, though I doubt it. Tauranga harbour has a small issue with abandoned boats, mainly in the harbourside, not this estuary.
