Goodbye, Mum

Last Friday night was one of the hardest moments I have had to bear alone, and that was to see Mum leave this world. When we said goodbye to Dad, my brother was there. Life, as in death, doesn’t always go to plan. More importantly, all our family were there in thought and spirit as we said goodbye to Mum.

I am the organiser of the family, so I’m busy sorting out her farewell with my siblings’ support. They and other family members won’t arrive until later this week. I will write about our lovely, caring, kind-spirited Mum at a later stage.

  1. Your mum was a beautiful woman. I’m sorry you had to go through saying goodbye on your own, but at least she wasn’t on her own. You’re going through a tough time in your life and I’m glad your siblings are supporting you. Many hugs sent your way for the coming week ahead. Take care Suz xx

    1. Thanks very much, Jude. A few of my siblings would’ve been there with me if they were living here. Yes, I was privileged to be there for Mum. Now I can start remembering the better times. She’s at peace now after a long journey with Parkinson’s. Her farewell is on Saturday xx

  2. I’m so sorry to read this news, and especially that you had to be alone at that point. But I’m glad you have the support of your siblings in all the tasks that lie ahead. Those old photos are very precious!
